THE CREWSMESS
At least on submarines the crewsmess is the gathering place of the vessel.
This is where the men eat their meals, read books, play cards and games like acey ducey.
This is also the location of some of the best story telling by the masters of the tall tale.
The crew gets to meet face to face with others in the crew who may live, (sleep),
someplace else in the boat and maybe even work at the opposites ends of the vessel.
It is the social center of the vessel for the enlisted men. The officers tend
to remain in the Wardroom but they have been known to "prowl" the crewsmess from time to time.
